About Foragd
Foragd is the pet project of myself, Calvin deClaissé-Walford . I have been interested in foraging wild foods and mushrooms for a long time, but noticed there were no good digital tools to allow foragers to keep track of their finds and log their collections. In the United States at least, it is required by law the professional mushroom foragers keep a log book of where, when, and what they found if they sell to consumers or businesses. I decided to create this app as a way to start tracking my own finds, but have been inpsired to continue expanding on the features such an app can offer, including:
- GPS locations
- Images
- Weather conditions
- Taxonomic grouping
- Integrations with tools like iNaturalist for AI-powered ID tools
- Predictive anaylsis on when things will be blooming, fruiting, etc.
- Saving 'hotspots' or foraging spots as map areas
- And many more...
This is an ongoing passion project currently, as I do not currently charge for this app. As the feature set becomes more robust, I may move to charging a one-time or subscription fee to keep the lights on!
For any feedback, please use the App Store's feedback tooling to let me know of any issues or bugs. I'll think about putting a feature request form in somewhere, too!
